Ingredients
  

  • 8 tbsp salted butter barely melted
  • ½ cup white sugar
  • ¼ cup packed light brown sugar
  • 1 tsp vanilla extract
  • 1 egg
  • cups 6.75 oz all-purpose flour
  • ½ tsp baking soda
  • ¼ tsp salt plus a pinch more
  • ¾ cup chocolate chips or chunks

Instructions
 

  • Preheat oven to 350°F. Melt butter until just liquid, not hot.
  • Beat melted butter with both sugars until creamy.
  • Add vanilla and egg. Beat briefly.
  • Add flour, baking soda, and salt. Mix until crumbles form.
  • Use hands to shape into dough.
  • Fold in chocolate chips.

  • Roll into 12 large balls. Place on cookie sheet.
