These crispy smashed sweet potatoes are golden and crunchy on the outside, tender in the middle, and brushed with a sweet-spicy glaze that caramelizes beautifully. Served with a cool, creamy garlic yogurt sauce, they’re the perfect crowd-pleasing side or snack.

For the smashed sweet potatoes:
- 600 g sweet potato
- 2 1/2 tbsp olive oil
- 2 tbsp cornstarch
- 1/2 tsp garlic powder
- 1 tsp sriracha
- 1/2 tsp black pepper
- 1/2 –1 tsp flaked sea salt to taste
- 1 tsp honey
For the garlic yogurt sauce:
- 1/4 cup Greek yogurt
- Salt and pepper to taste
- 1/2 tsp garlic powder or 1 garlic clove minced
Peel and slice sweet potatoes. Boil until tender (5–8 mins). Drain.
Mix olive oil, cornstarch, garlic powder, sriracha, pepper, and salt.
Arrange potatoes on tray, smash to 1cm thick. Brush with oil mixture.
Bake or air fry at 180°C for 30–40 mins, flipping halfway.
Drizzle with honey near end and return to cook until sticky.
