These crispy smashed sweet potatoes are golden and crunchy on the outside, tender in the middle, and brushed with a sweet-spicy glaze that caramelizes beautifully. Served with a cool, creamy garlic yogurt sauce, they’re the perfect crowd-pleasing side or snack.

Ingredients
  

For the smashed sweet potatoes:

  • 600 g sweet potato
  • 2 1/2 tbsp olive oil
  • 2 tbsp cornstarch
  • 1/2 tsp garlic powder
  • 1 tsp sriracha
  • 1/2 tsp black pepper
  • 1/2 –1 tsp flaked sea salt to taste
  • 1 tsp honey

For the garlic yogurt sauce:

  • 1/4 cup Greek yogurt
  • Salt and pepper to taste
  • 1/2 tsp garlic powder or 1 garlic clove minced

Instructions
 

  • Peel and slice sweet potatoes. Boil until tender (5–8 mins). Drain.
  • Mix olive oil, cornstarch, garlic powder, sriracha, pepper, and salt.
  • Arrange potatoes on tray, smash to 1cm thick. Brush with oil mixture.
  • Bake or air fry at 180°C for 30–40 mins, flipping halfway.
  • Drizzle with honey near end and return to cook until sticky.
