Ingredients
  

  • 2 tablespoons butter
  • 1 small onion finely chopped
  • 2 cloves garlic minced
  • 1 celery stalk finely chopped
  • 1 carrot peeled and finely chopped
  • ¼ cup all-purpose flour
  • 4 cups seafood or chicken broth
  • 1 cup heavy cream
  • 1 cup milk
  • ½ pound fresh crab meat
  • ½ pound shrimp peeled and deveined
  • ¼ cup dry white wine
  • 1 tablespoon tomato paste
  • 1 teaspoon Old Bay seasoning
  • Salt and pepper to taste
  • 2 tablespoons chopped fresh parsley

Instructions
 

  • Melt butter in a large pot over medium heat.
  • Add onion, garlic, celery, and carrot. Cook for 5–7 minutes until tender.
  • Stir in flour and cook for 2 minutes, stirring constantly.
  • Slowly whisk in broth. Bring to a boil, then reduce to a simmer for 10 minutes.
  • Add cream, milk, crab, shrimp, wine, and tomato paste.
  • Simmer 10–15 minutes until shrimp are cooked.
