- 2 tablespoons butter
- 1 small onion finely chopped
- 2 cloves garlic minced
- 1 celery stalk finely chopped
- 1 carrot peeled and finely chopped
- ¼ cup all-purpose flour
- 4 cups seafood or chicken broth
- 1 cup heavy cream
- 1 cup milk
- ½ pound fresh crab meat
- ½ pound shrimp peeled and deveined
- ¼ cup dry white wine
- 1 tablespoon tomato paste
- 1 teaspoon Old Bay seasoning
- Salt and pepper to taste
- 2 tablespoons chopped fresh parsley
Melt butter in a large pot over medium heat.
Add onion, garlic, celery, and carrot. Cook for 5–7 minutes until tender.
Stir in flour and cook for 2 minutes, stirring constantly.
Slowly whisk in broth. Bring to a boil, then reduce to a simmer for 10 minutes.
Add cream, milk, crab, shrimp, wine, and tomato paste.
Simmer 10–15 minutes until shrimp are cooked.
